OUR COLLABORATIONS

We support artistic collaborations initiated by Prune Nourry.

Together, communities, artisans, students and Prune share their stories and skills, and create collaborative, non-commercial art. Catharsis supports these artworks from conception to execution, organizes exhibitions around the world to raise awareness on the narratives they embody, and encourages collective healing through art.

We actively seek to challenge the boundaries of art. Our collaborations are more than sculptures, they are the result of transformative relationships with our collaborators. They include educational programs and highly tailored support programs which emerge from months of fieldwork. We seek to address our collaborators’ needs for the long term.

STRAND FOR WOMEN, 2025

Women’s fight for freedom is more important than ever.

Strand for Women is a collective exhibition and participatory global art project initiated by Prune that started in 2023.  This 2025, the Invisible Dog Art Center and the Catharsis Arts Foundation are co-presenting a new edition of Strand For Women as part of their residency at Atelier Jolie, NYC.

The exhibition and participatory artwork are a response to the ongoing assault on women’s rights. The 2025 edition of Strand for Women is co-curated with Iranian and Afghan artists and advisors.

STATUES ALSO BREATHE

Statues Also Breathe is the first artwork supported by the Catharsis Arts Foundation.

It was initiated in 2022 and is a long-term collaboration between the students of the Department of Fine Arts of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, the Chibok community and Prune.

Catharsis is supporting a world tour of the artwork, along with programs by and with the Chibok community. Inspired by the ancient Ife terracotta heads, the project highlights the global struggle for girls’ education, embodied by portraits of the still missing Chibok girls who were kidnapped in 2014 by Boko Haram in the north of the country.

Statues Also Breathe is comprised of:

  • A travelling exhibition featuring:
    • The army of 108 unique fired clay heads on tripods, made and signed by the student who participated to the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) workshop in Ile-Ife.
    • 8 fired clay heads on tripods, artist’s proofs made and signed by Prune and donated to the project.
    • A documentary by Vincent Lorca and Chioma Onyenwe about the collaborative process.
    • Talks and workshops with Chibok girls, Ife craftspeople and leading scholars
    • Educational programs for all ages
  • Local programs for the long term, designed by and with our collaborators
